VR-120HD: Fresh Features

The VR-120HD Direct Streaming AV Mixer comes equipped with the most powerful audio capabilities of any video switcher in its class, allowing users to run hybrid live and online productions. With its extensive audio and video I/O, large touchscreen, and hands-on controls, the VR-120HD is truly a breakthrough product with endless potential uses. Adding additional power to the acclaimed Roland AV technology found in the VR-50HD and VR-50HD MK II, the VR-120HD also has many new features. Find out what makes this device essential to the single operator’s workflow.

More Audio and Video Power

The VR-120HD delivers more audio and video capability than its predecessors. This power comes from extra audio and video inputs, including 3G SDI inputs with frame rate converters and six 1080p HDMI inputs with frame rate converters and real-time scalers. There are eight total outputs: three SDI, three HDMI, USB-C streaming, and a dedicated direct streaming output. In addition, the unit has three separate video destinations. This is particularly beneficial for live events that need to feed different content to different screens as part of the presentation.

Direct Streaming

Livestreaming remains a fundamental part of the modern Pro A/V landscape, and the VR-120HD is ready for action. The unit allows for direct streaming—no computer is necessary. Simply connect the LAN port to the platform of your choice, and you’ll be off and running. This handy function is advantageous for worship services seeking an easier way to stream directly to Facebook and YouTube.

SD Card Recording

Not only does the VR-120HD make livestreaming easier than ever, the unit also allows you to record to an SD card. Archiving, editing, and distributing content is seamless. Directly record your event without a separate computer and hand the client a video file. You can also capture stereo WAV audio and still images and save them to the card, making the VR-120HD a one-stop solution for countless media needs. For live music or corporate productions requiring a quick and straightforward capture method, the VR-120HD has you covered.

Video Clip Player

Along with the ability to record video content, the VR-120HD has an integrated video player, allowing operators to import and trigger video clips directly from the SD card. As with the streaming and recording function, there is no need to connect an external playback device like a computer. Schools and live event operators who seek to play media clips and desire one less laptop on the table will rejoice.

Expanded Macro Recording

The VR-120HD has 100 macros, which can be a combination of switching between cameras, displaying lower thirds, adjusting audio, recalling PTZ camera positions, and many other functions. The unit allows users to record multiple actions to a single button—no more complex programming in the menu. Just pre-program your actions and implement them quickly during your event or livestream. The expanded macro power of the VR-120HD is excellent for setting up a live event and handling complex show cues.
